Eric Bauza, who voiced iconic cartoon characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died aged 46.

The family of the voice actor announced the tragic news on Instagram on Monday (26.10.26), but stopped short of revealing the cause of death - instead stating that he died "suddenly".

They wrote on Instagram: "Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly."

They also said that there will be "more details to come".

Following the news, Variety reported that Bauza's cause of death was "hypertensive cardiovascular disease", and said he died at his home on Sunday.

Channing Dungey, the chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, said in a statement: "Eric Bauza was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world.

"He followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc. Eric said that carrying on the legendary legacy of the Looney Tunes was among the greatest honours of his life."

Bauza, who was born in Ontario, Canada, previously said he had always been a huge fan of the Looney Tunes franchise.

He said: "Looney Tunes transcends all languages and all cultures. It doesn't matter what part of the planet you're from. You get the comedy."

Bauza voiced of Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn in Space Jam: A New Legacy, in 2021, before reprising those roles in Coyote vs. Acme.

He also voiced Road Runner in the 2026 movie.

Other roles included voicing Toad General in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Super Mario Galaxy movie.

Bauza was also an Emmy award winner, taking home three prizes between 2022 and 2025.

Coyote vs. Acme producer Chris DeFaria shared his memories of Bauza in a statement to Variety, praising his "absolutely tireless dedication" to the world of animation.

He said: "He embodied everything we wanted from this film, including the major theme of the movie that a little guy can make a difference in this world,

"He's a voiceover artist for animated characters that have historic precedents and roles, and somehow out of that, he carved out a place in this business.

"And this past year, he had such an incredible impact, both on our movie, of course, but also on bringing attention to this amazing art form."
