Julianne Moore has joined an Oscar-shortlisted live-action short film as an executive producer.
The 65-year-old actress will serve her role alongside 72-year-old actress Isabelle Huppert on Two People Exchanging Saliva - set in a dystopian world where kissing is punishable by death.
Couple Natalie Musteata and Alexandre Singh - the writers and directors of the short - told Variety: "Julianne Moore leads with empathy in life and in her work. She has an extraordinary ability to understand the inner lives of others and to honour that complexity on screen.
"Having her join this film as an executive producer feels personal to us.
"In Far From Heaven, and Safe, she gave enduring form to characters navigating identity, repression, and vulnerability within stifling social systems and delivered performances that resonate deeply with the themes of this film. It's a true honour to have her join our team."
Two People Exchanging Saliva - which is narrated by actress Vicky Krieps, 42, and stars Zar Amir Ebrahimi, 44, and 24 year old Luana Bajrami - premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2024.
Since then, the project - produced by Misia Films and available to stream on The New Yorker's YouTube channel - has received multiple gongs.
This includes the Grand Jury Prize at the 2024 AFI Fest, Best in Block at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, and the Canal+ national and national audience awards at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
In June 2025, Moore - who has pale skin - admitted she turns down jobs that involve a lot of filming outdoors amid a fear of getting sunburnt.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2 actress told the Guardian newspaper: "I have, on occasion, turned things down if it's something that was taking place outside, like, all the time with no shade.
"'Guess what? We're shooting at the beach every single day!' That would be tough. I would incinerate."
And the award-winning star cannot resist working on her days off.
In September 2025, Moore told People: "I like a little bit of everything. A perfect day is not having to get up too early and drink my coffee, and read the news and answer my emails.
"Then I would also have time maybe to do some yoga and then have dinner with my family, and then watch something that I enjoy and go to bed."
Adding that she cannot help but fit in "a little bit of work", the Still Alice cast member said: "Maybe I shoot something, or I'm working on a script, or I'm learning something."
