John Legend gives rare insight into his relationship with Chrissy Teigen and family life

John Legend says he and his wife Chrissy Teigen "don't argue a lot".
Although his new album Muse may suggest the 47-year-old singer frequently rows with the 40-year-old model, John insists they have a quiet and loving relationship, built on strong friendship.
Appearing on the UK radio show Heart Breakfast on Friday (23.10.26), the All of Me hitmaker said Chrissy is "in charge" in their household, which prompted host Jamie Theakston, 55, to wonder: "If you guys have a row, does she say, 'John, don't you dare write a song about this!'
Laughing, the 13-time Grammy winner replied: "You know, it's funny, on this new album, I write about some relationship stories that sound like me and Chrissy are really fighting all the time, but we really don't.
"It's a pretty peaceful home, we don't argue a lot, we get along well. We have a great relationship and friendship, so I don't usually have to put her on the spot and write nasty things about her!"
Having penned the 2013 hit All of Me, John reflected on why, with his work, he has to keep raising the bar and go beyond his own stable family life with Chrissy and their four children - daughters Luna, 10, and Esti, three, and sons Miles, eight, and three-year-old Wren.
Laughing, the Ordinary People artist said: "It's hard to surpass All of Me, [laughs] I've literally given her all of me already!"
John continued: "But I think I just have to keep pushing myself as an artist and as a songwriter and keep making music that I'm really proud of, and it can't always be bound by exactly what's going on in my relationship because my relationship is pretty stable and chill, and we've got four kids, and nobody wants me to write about that all the time.
"I've got to spice it up a little bit in the songs!"
Elsewhere in the interview, John revealed how he and Chrissy, who have been married since 2013, like to unwind after work.
He said: "We like to just sit in front of the TV, I'll have a glass of wine, she's sober so she'll have whatever beverage of choice she wants, and we'll watch some TV.
"Sometimes it's classy and prestigious TV, sometimes it's trashy, reality TV, but after the kids go to bed, that's what we're often doing - sitting on the couch together, watching something together."
Listen to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 6.30am to 10.00am across the UK and on YouTube.
