Dakota Johnson has reportedly been "quietly seeing" MGK for months.

The Materialists actress hit it off with the musician - who was previously known as Machine Gun Kelly and whose real name is Colson Baker - at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at New York's Madison Square Garden on 4 July, and they have been getting to know one another better ever since.

A source close to the Emo Girl hitmaker told People magazine: "[They] have been hanging out and seeing each other under the radar for months now. They had met before, but hit it off at [Taylor's wedding].

"They started off as friends and were texting often, but now they're spending more time together.

"It's a very new start, but they're smitten with each other right now."

According to the insider, MGK is "very into" Dakota and has been telling friends he thinks the 36-year-old star is "amazing".

The source added: "They haven't put a label on their relationship yet, they are just seeing where spending time together will take them."

A second source noted Dakota and MGK, also 36, have been "hanging out for a bit" but stressed things between them are still "super casual".

Last weekend, Dakota and MGK were photographed out together in New York City. The Splitsville actress and the Bad Things musician - who has 17-month-old Saga with former fiancée Megan Fox and Casie, 17, with Emma Cannon - were seen arriving at Taylor's apartment together before returning to a hotel.

Dakota was most recently linked to another musician, Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, but a source confirmed last month they had ended their romance "a while ago".

The Fifty Shades of Grey actress was previously in a relationship with Coldplay's Chris Martin between 2017 and June 2025.

Meanwhile, Dakota previously claimed she was "lucky" that she was allowed to discover her own sexuality.

The actress - who is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith - revealed that she feels fortunate to have grown up in such an open-minded household.

The Madame Web star told Bustle: "I was lucky that I grew up with a mom who was very open - at times maybe too open - about sexuality, but it was always like, whatever you're into and when you want to have sex, you just let me know and we'll get birth control.

"It was really healthy, and it made me feel like I was allowed to discover my sexuality on my own, which I think is such a gift.

"We've progressed so much in some societies, for people to be allowed to say that they feel neither here nor there in terms of gender. That's an incredible thing. It's such a leap forward."

By contrast, Dakota acknowledged that other parts of the world aren't so forward-thinking.

The movie star - who lives in Malibu, California - added: "Then there's Alabama, and Texas, and the rest of the world that is in complete disarray."
