'Chess' stars Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit to mount one-night-only concert

“Chess” may have brought together co-stars Lea Michele and Aaron Tveit together onstage, but the two Broadway darlings have danced and sung on parallel tracks for much longer.
On Nov. 19 they will take the stage together at the Beacon Theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to regale a single-night audience with songs from their respective careers in a show derived from matching milestones amid two decades of overlap.
Their side-by-side started in 2006 when each had breakout roles. That year Michele starred in “Spring Awakening,” which cemented her leading-lady status, and Tveit made his Broadway debut in “Hairspray,” the pair told People. In the 20 years since, they have performed blocks from one another but did not share a stage until their nine-month run in “Chess” from November 2025 until June 2026.
“Our paths were extremely parallel,” Tveit told People in an exclusive dual interview alongside Michele. “There were very, very specific times that really lined up to these big moments happening for each of us in our Broadway careers. But we were sort of circling one another, which is kind of crazy.”
