Solicitation of prostitution charges against Daniel Stern dropped

The Ventura County District Attorney won’t pursue solicitation of prostitution charges against “Home Alone” star Daniel Stern.
The case against the 68-year-old actor was dismissed Friday, according to TMZ. Lawyers for the actor were in court, though their client was not.
Stern was reportedly cited for trying to hire an escort at a Southern California hotel in December and charged a short time later. A representative from the District Attorney’s office told TMZ Stern’s case was dropped after he completed a mandatory course. He’s a first-time offender.
Stern appeared in numerous successful films including the first two “Home Alone” movies, “Diner,” “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “City Slickers.”
He also voiced the main characters for the coming-of-age television show “The Wonder Years” and the “Dilbert” cartoon series. Deadline reported that he was involved in an ABC pilot series called “Do You Want Kids?” prior to his legal troubles. He’s no longer linked to that project.
Stern now posts updates on his work as a sculptor on social media.
TMZ reported that he was hospitalized in October for an undisclosed medical emergency, but seemed to have been on the mend.
